Clarios Broadens Its Range of Recycled Plastics for the Auto Sector

Certainly! Here’s a summary of the article regarding Clarios and its new product line:

Clarios Expands Recycled Plastics Portfolio for Automotive Industry

Clarios, a leader in low-voltage battery solutions, has unveiled its “Seculene” product line, which consists of high-quality polypropylene (PP) compounds made entirely from post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials. These compounds are designed for various automotive applications, including battery housings, bumpers, underbody components, and interior parts.

With the new European End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) Regulation requiring a minimum recycled plastics content in new vehicles—15% by 2032 and 25% by 2036—demand for high-performance recyclates is expected to surge. Clarios is advancing its Seculene efforts at its Hanover site and recycling facilities in Freiberg and Braubach, further solidifying its commitment to circular value creation and resilient supply chains.

At the upcoming Fakuma trade fair, Clarios will showcase around 30 material grades from the Seculene line, including various PP compounds and flame-retardant options meeting the highest safety standards.
