Chimney Hills Residents Upset Over Ongoing Car Thefts: “No Accountability”

Residents in Tulsa’s Chimney Hills neighborhood are growing increasingly frustrated due to a series of vehicle break-ins attributed to a juvenile suspect. Samantha Almy, a resident, recounted her experience when her locked car was stolen from her driveway after someone broke a window and hot-wired it.

On September 28, Almy captured video footage of the suspect, who appeared to wave at the camera while driving off in her car. She learned from Tulsa police that the suspect is a 12-year-old tribal citizen, and that other neighbors have reported similar thefts since July, indicating a disturbing pattern.

Despite increased patrols from the Tulsa Police Department, Almy expressed concerns that the suspect continues to evade serious consequences, leading her to question the effectiveness of the system in addressing juvenile crime. She has spent around $800 for repairs and now keeps her car locked in her garage to deter further incidents. Almy fears for the safety of the neighborhood and believes that the escalating situation requires urgent attention from law enforcement.
