Senator Jim Justice Celebrates Contributions to NASA’s Artemis Program in Ravenswood
On Wednesday, Senator Jim Justice of West Virginia honored the work at the Constellium Rolled Products Ravenswood plant, emphasizing the facility’s role in NASA’s Artemis space program. Accompanied by his bulldog Babydog, he addressed the plant’s employees, expressing enthusiasm for the team’s impact on national space exploration efforts.
Justice praised the craftsmanship and dedication of Constellium workers, stating their contributions are vital, particularly in the manufacturing of critical components for NASA’s Space Launch System and the Orion Crew Module. These components played a significant role in the successful Artemis II mission, which saw astronauts orbit the Moon.
The Senator highlighted the plant’s ongoing partnership with NASA for future missions, notably the upcoming Artemis III and IV, which aim to enhance lunar operations and establish a permanent human presence on the Moon. With around 1,200 employees, the Ravenswood plant is a vital economic asset in Jackson County and a top manufacturer in West Virginia.
Justice encouraged his audience to take pride in their work, viewing it as a means to change perceptions about the state and showcase its capabilities on a global stage.
