Join St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church in Shallotte on Main Street for a celebration of furry friendships and family on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 2 to 4 p.m.
The event will kick off the St. Francis Feast weekend, featuring adoption opportunities from two local animal rescue shelters: Empowering Pawz Rescue Shelter of Calabash and Cat Tails Rescue Shelter of Ocean Isle Beach. Both shelters will be ready to help animals find loving homes.
Following the adoption drive, attendees can have their existing furry family members, or new ones, blessed during the Blessing of the Animals service.
