Jaguars Prepare for London Challenge
JACKSONVILLE – The Jaguars are gearing up for a significant week, focusing on the mental and physical preparations required for success.
As the leaders of the AFC South with a record of 3-1, the Jaguars face a challenging task ahead: back-to-back games in London, starting with a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) this Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
This isn’t the Jaguars’ first trip overseas, and the stakes involve more than just physical readiness. Offensive coordinator Coen emphasized the importance of mental toughness and professionalism, stating, “We have to have mental toughness to prepare ourselves throughout this week, and also have a professionalism to us that understands that this is a business trip.”
Both teams, familiar with the London atmosphere, have a history in the city— the Eagles previously defeated the Jaguars 24-18 in 2018 at Wembley Stadium. The Jaguars hold a 7-7 record in London, having won three of their last five games there.
Cornerback Jarrian Jones noted the adjustment that comes with traveling: “It’s kind of a little different out there… Just try to find your routine and try to stick with it.”
Coen, addressing the media, pointed out that changing environments can disrupt normal routines. “Anytime you get outside of your normal rhythm… something will tweak. It’s natural for every human being,” he said, challenging players to identify potential challenges and stay ahead of them.
As the week unfolds, the Jaguars are committed to maintaining focus and preparation as they embark on this international journey.
