EQT has successfully acquired Exolaunch, a Berlin-based company specializing in satellite launch mission management and deployment technology. This acquisition aims to enhance Exolaunch’s global operations and expand its service offerings across the space value chain.
Following the acquisition agreement announced on June 18, 2026, EQT plans to support Exolaunch in scaling its operations, investing in advanced technologies, and developing new relationships with launch providers. The strategy includes targeting opportunities in satellite constellations, in-space manufacturing, and payload return missions as the commercial space sector evolves.
Exolaunch is currently expanding its launch program with notable missions, including collaboration with the German Space Agency and NASA for the GRACE-C mission using a SpaceX Falcon 9, and securing a launch on Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ H3 rocket in 2027. Furthermore, the company is diversifying into return-to-Earth services, having secured a contract for a SpaceX Starfall mission in 2029 to support various research areas.
With around a decade of experience and over 890 satellites launched, Exolaunch is well-positioned to leverage EQT’s resources for continual growth while maintaining its entrepreneurial roots. Dr. Robert Sproles, Exolaunch’s CEO, expressed optimism about the partnership, emphasizing the need for reliable launch infrastructure as demand rises in the space economy.
