Kingsey Falls, QC, Oct. 8, 2026 – Cascades Inc. (TSX: CAS) has received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its new greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets. These targets align with SBTi’s methodology, created in collaboration with organizations like the Carbon Disclosure Project, the United Nations Global Compact, and the World Wildlife Fund.

As part of its fifth Sustainability Plan, launched in June, Cascades aims to reduce Scopes 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 67.2% by 2035 from a 2019 baseline. Additionally, the company plans a 41.3% reduction in Scope 3 emissions across various categories.

Cascades has already cut its Scopes 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 32.6% from 2019 to 2025, outperforming the North American paper industry average by generating 25% fewer emissions in 2025. To sustain this progress, the company will focus on energy efficiency, equipment electrification, and exploring renewable energy sources.
