A new project called the “Gathering Space” is set to begin at Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA. The initiative aims to enhance the area with new seating, shade trees, landscaping, and improved accessibility to create a more inviting space for both residents and visitors. Work will commence in October, starting with tree pruning, removal of old playground equipment, and grading.
The redesign is informed by community feedback gathered in November 2025, where Savannah residents shared their preferences on how they utilize the space and what improvements they envision. The City of Savannah will continue to provide updates on additional projects planned for the park as details on locations, schedules, and budgets are finalized.
