Tropical Depression #NINE has developed and is expected to strengthen into Hurricane #Isaias in the coming days.
It is swirling over exceptionally warm Gulf waters, which are up to 3.5°F above average—conditions that are nearly unachievable without heat-trapping pollution.
As it intensifies, it will continue over waters made warmer by this pollution. https://t.co/rJnaMcn1Iw

ISIS Militants Recently Launched a Second Attack on Iraqi Forces in Hawija, Targeting a PMF Brigade.
The attack occurred less than 24 hours after a previous assault aimed at the Federal Police, leaving one officer dead and four others injured. In both assaults, ISIS militants focused on thermal surveillance equipment.
Due to heightened tensions, the Federal Police enforced a nightly curfew in Hawija, although reports suggest inconsistencies regarding its enforcement.
Hawija had been a key ISIS stronghold in Kirkuk province until Iraqi forces regained control in 2017.

Onboard the multi-mission frigate Auvergne, I witnessed the inaugural launch of the new ballistic missile M51.3 from the nuclear-powered submarine Le Vigilant.
Few nations possess such expertise.
Congratulations to all contributors to this outstanding achievement: DGA, CEA, Ariane Group, Naval Group, and the French Navy. Your professionalism and technical mastery bring pride to France.
This technical triumph further underscores the credibility of our deterrent, which remains secure.
To ensure freedom, one must be feared, and to be feared, one must be powerful.
Since 2017, I have committed to renewing our capabilities for the coming decades. Over ten years, our military budget will double. Our future strategic submarines are currently under construction. This year saw the initiation of the hypersonic and maneuverable strategic missile program, which will enhance our air deterrence.
Our nuclear deterrent protects us and will continue to do so.
Long live the Republic and long live France.

The latest information about the attack on the Aframax Rio oil tanker in the Black Sea has emerged from various Russian media outlets.
Registered in Liberia and carrying oil, the tanker was assaulted by sea drones near the Sochi region, leading to a significant fire with oil ablaze on the water’s surface.
All 23 crew members, who are Indian nationals, have been rescued with no injuries reported thus far.
Beaches in Sochi have been temporarily closed, and authorities report that pollutant levels in the air remain beneath allowable limits. This area is also a known habitat for dolphins.
Rescue teams are currently unable to approach the tanker safely and plan to address the burning oil once the flames subside.
