About Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO)
Established in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina, ARNO is a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue and shelter serving the Greater New Orleans area. The organization began by rescuing pets left behind in the aftermath of the storm and has since evolved into a vital resource for abandoned and homeless animals.
ARNO provides medical care, rehabilitation, and safe shelter for neglected, injured, elderly, or at-risk animals until they find loving homes. The organization also fosters responsible pet ownership through adoption programs and community outreach, working tirelessly to improve animal welfare across the region. Supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and donors, ARNO is committed to reducing pet homelessness.
