Kongsberg Automotive Restructures Cluses Operations

Kongsberg, 6 October 2026: Kongsberg Automotive ASA (KA) has finalized the consultation process regarding the restructuring of its manufacturing operations in Cluses, France. This action follows several years of significant financial losses, which negatively impacted KA’s profitability. The restructuring aims to align the cost base with projected market activity levels, targeting substantial cost savings.

Background: The restructuring was approved by French authorities after consultations with employee representatives, initiated in June 2026 per relevant French laws, as mentioned in the Q2 2026 Financial Report.

Financial Impact: The restructuring will incur one-time costs of approximately EUR 7.5 million, with EUR 0.5 million recognized by Q3 2026. The remaining EUR 7 million is anticipated to be recognized in Q4 2026. Once implemented, the restructuring is expected to yield cost savings of about EUR 4 million in 2027 and around EUR 5 million annually thereafter, resulting in a payback period of less than two years.

Leadership Statement: Trond Fiskum, President & CEO, emphasized the importance of these strategic actions to enhance the long-term performance and competitiveness of Kongsberg’s operations in Cluses. He expressed gratitude for the constructive dialogue during the restructuring process.
