6th Annual Charity Celebrity Softball Game
Brandon Watson and Team Watson hosted the 6th Annual Charity Celebrity Softball Game at Loyola Marymount University’s Page Stadium in Los Angeles, supported by The RightWay Foundation and Arete Industrial Solutions. Despite the sweltering heat, athletes, entertainers, and fans united for a cause greater than just the game.
Star-Studded Lineup
The event featured a range of celebrities including Jonathan Majors, Meagan Good, Matt Barnes, Terrell Owens, Paul Pierce, and Amber Rose. The day was filled with fun, competitive plays, and a lively atmosphere, characteristic of Team Watson’s events.
A Coaching Role for Meagan Good
Meagan Good transitioned from player to coach for the day. She approached her role with enthusiasm, drawing on inspiration from the film A League of Their Own and channeling her inner Tom Hanks.
Personal Connections
Spectacular from Pretty Ricky shared his motivation: “Just going through the struggle I went through as a kid, I know what it felt like to have support.” Former MLB pitcher Edwin Jackson emphasized the importance of giving back, urging attendees to find their passions and contribute to the community.
The RightWay Foundation
The event supported The RightWay Foundation, which assists transition-age foster and probation youth with employment and housing. Founder Franco Vega shared his personal journey from hardship to helping over 1,700 youth, driven by the belief that “you only need one person” to make a difference.
Youth Engagement
Before the game, a Day of Truth free clinic was held for youth aged 7 to 18, where they learned baseball skills from professionals and gained valuable life lessons in mentorship and teamwork.
Conclusion
Over the past six years, the Watson family has turned celebrations into meaningful service, reinforcing that the most significant wins take place off the field.
