Upcoming Pet Adoption Event in Claremore, OK
Date: Saturday, Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Claremore Expo Center, 400 Veterans Parkway
CLAREMORE, Okla. – Local shelters and rescues in the Tulsa area are facing overcrowding, leading 12 organizations to collaborate for a significant adoption event this weekend. The aim is to enhance visibility for adoptable pets and connect them with potential families.
Finding Homes for Local Pets
Organizer Jennifer Moscarelli emphasizes that the event not only saves lives but also helps shelters staff rescue more animals from overcapacity.
Among the adoptable pets is Tommy, a friendly 6-month-old puppy still seeking a home. His story highlights the importance of such events, especially as shelter visits decline.
Family Activities Planned
The event will feature various activities including:
- Bounce houses
- Face painting
- Pumpkin painting
- Raffles
- Pet photo booths
- Live dog-training demonstrations
- A mobile pet spa with over 30 vendors
Moscarelli aims to create a fun, family-friendly atmosphere to encourage attendance and pet adoption.
How to Help
For those unable to adopt, there are still numerous ways to support local shelters, including:
- Donations
- Volunteering
- Sponsoring a pet
Funds raised will benefit the Claremore Animal Shelter, and direct donations to participating rescues are welcome.
