Kayla Heimann, a consultant with the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center (NCOESC), has been chosen for Ohio’s STEM Ambassador Program. This prestigious selection highlights her commitment to enhancing STEM education and career outreach for students.
The Ohio Space Grant Consortium, part of NASA’s National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program, supports the STEM Ambassador Program. The program aims to inspire educators, students, and young professionals to share their enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through community outreach.
As an ambassador, Heimann will design and lead projects that engage students, connect education to real-world applications, and introduce STEM career pathways. She will also collaborate with academic and industry partners, strengthening ties between education and future careers.
Participants in the program benefit from guest lectures by NASA and STEM professionals, networking and mentorship opportunities, and workshops focused on developing leadership and communication skills. These resources will empower Heimann to introduce innovative ideas and connections to local schools.
Her appointment is a testament to NCOESC’s dedication to expanding opportunities for students in the region, encouraging them to explore their interests and envision themselves as future leaders in STEM fields.
