Clemson Home to Hold Bryan Mall Block Party on Friday, October 16

Clemson Home is excited to celebrate the renovations of its three main high-rise residential communities on Friday, Oct. 16, from 2-4 p.m. at the courtyard between Byrnes, Lever, and Manning halls. The event will include food trucks, yard games, and more, welcoming students, faculty, and staff.

Donnie Lloyd, director of auxiliary planning and support, emphasizes that this event marks a significant moment for Clemson’s residential communities, highlighting the completion of a $155 million renovation project that extends the lifespan of the facilities by 40 years.

Since 2023, each high rise has been renovated in turn. The upgrades include enhanced social and study areas, modern bathrooms, and a new corner staircase offering stunning campus views. Each ground floor also features shared kitchen spaces with unique elements, like Byrnes’ restored pool table.

The newly connected courtyard encourages social interaction, making these high-rises a popular spot for first-year students. Student Kiersten Walters shares her excitement about the changes, noting the renovated spaces foster community engagement and events.
