In Boardman, police are investigating an unusual car accident where a vehicle drove down a flight of stairs and crashed into the entrance of a building. The incident took place around 12:30 p.m. on Market Street, specifically in a plaza housing Family Dollar and Hair Depot.
The car ended up wedged between the building’s doorway and a nearby fence. Although the exact cause of the crash is still being determined, authorities indicate that the driver might have mistakenly believed the stairs were a driveway, or may have accidentally accelerated.
Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported. The driver did complain of some discomfort and was subsequently taken to a hospital for assessment.
