Main Street Elizabethton has recognized Brightspeed for its generous support of the Downtown Elizabethton pet-friendly program, which includes the introduction of dog water bowls at 38 participating businesses.

Through its sponsorship, Brightspeed aims to provide these water bowls to ensure pets can stay hydrated while their owners shop, dine, and explore the downtown area. Lymari Muñoz, local marketing manager at Brightspeed, stated, “At Brightspeed, we know that fast, reliable internet is about more than technology; it’s about connecting people and communities. We’re proud to support Main Street Elizabethton, which not only champions local businesses but also fosters connections among neighbors and their pets in the heart of the city.”

These water bowls complement existing pet-waste stations and the growing number of businesses participating in the downtown pet-friendly initiative. “Having water bowls available throughout the district is a great enhancement to our pet-friendly program,” remarked Main Street Elizabethton Director Courtney Bean. “We want visitors to feel comfortable bringing their dogs downtown and to know that they are welcome here. We are incredibly grateful to Brightspeed for sponsoring this project and helping us create a welcoming destination for everyone, including our four-legged visitors.”

The pet-friendly program encourages visitors to bring their dogs downtown while reminding owners to keep them leashed and clean up after them. Participating businesses can be easily identified by pet-friendly program stickers on their doors.

Brightspeed’s support will also extend to the fifth annual Barktoberfest, hosted by Main Street Elizabethton and Riverside Taphouse from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, at Covered Bridge Park. This event will feature pet contests, food trucks, a beer garden, live music, and various pet vendors and resources. Brightspeed is sponsoring a Memories Matter photo booth, providing attendees with a keepsake from the event.

Brightspeed, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, offers broadband and telecommunications services in 20 states and employs nearly 4,000 people, operating a network capable of serving over 7.3 million homes and businesses.
