Kathleen Turner Responds to Michael Douglas’ Affair Disclosure

Kathleen Turner Reacts to Michael Douglas’ Memoir Confession About Their Affair

Kathleen Turner recently commented on her former co-star Michael Douglas’s revelation in his memoir about their past affair during the filming of Romancing The Stone in 1984.

In the memoir, Douglas reflects on the strong chemistry they shared and admits that while they claimed nothing happened, it was not entirely the truth. He stated:

“Yes, we confessed, we had amazing chemistry… but nothing ever happened between us. That was a lie.”

Douglas, who was going through a separation from his then-wife, Diandra, expressed that he “fell hard” for Kathleen and described their relationship evolving from friends to co-stars to lovers.

In response, Turner shared her thoughts with People magazine, saying:

“Good heavens what a fuss about something 40 years ago! I love Michael and I look forward to enjoying the book.”

Romancing The Stone, directed by Robert Zemeckis, tells the story of a romance novelist who goes on an adventure to rescue her sister, leading to a partnership with an American smuggler. Following this film, Turner and Douglas worked together several more times, including in The Jewel Of The Nile and The War Of The Roses. More recently, they appeared in the Netflix dramedy The Kominsky Method, which aired until 2021.

This revelation has ignited curiosity and nostalgia around their iconic collaborations and personal history.
