Giannis Antetokounmpo is diving into the Miami Heat culture, emphasizing that the team’s ethos is more than just a marketing slogan—it’s a real experience.

In a recent interview with The Athletic, he highlighted that the commitment to communication and accountability is palpable from his initial days at the team’s player-organized camp in Los Angeles to recent training sessions with head coach Erik Spoelstra at Florida Atlantic University.

Reflecting on the authenticity of his transition after 13 years with the Milwaukee Bucks, Antetokounmpo remarked on a recent meeting where Navy SEALs shared their experiences while the team engaged in physical training. He expressed his enthusiasm for the Heat Culture, stating, “It’s real, and I love it. It gives me goosebumps. It’s almost like being alive again.”

As he enters his 14th NBA season, Antetokounmpo is eager to bounce back from recent injury struggles, having played only 36 games last year. He maintains a positive outlook, asserting, “I know I’m 31, but I’m not 35 or 36… I know I got five, six good years.”

The Heat will hold an open scrimmage on Tuesday before facing the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday. Following three additional exhibition games, they kick off the regular season against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Kaseya Center on October 21.
