INDIANAPOLIS — Every week, “Pet Pals TV” highlights fascinating stories about our furry friends.
In the latest episode, host Patty Spitler and News 8’s Garrett Bergquist welcomed Donna Burns and her Schnauzer therapy dog, Ollie, who is spreading holiday cheer through his new book, “Ollie’s Three Christmas Wishes.” This delightful book, released just in time for the holiday season, is aimed at children but also resonates with adult readers who follow Ollie’s journey as a therapy animal.
Donna Burns featured the book in a recent WISH-TV segment, sharing that the inspiration for this project stems from the positive impact Ollie has made on the residents he visits in assisted living facilities and nursing homes around Indianapolis, Columbus, and Seymour. “He just looks into my soul,” one resident remarked, highlighting the comfort Ollie brings during his visits.
In addition to his therapeutic work, Ollie is a trained entertainer. His daily schedule includes practicing tricks, such as a hopscotch routine with a stuffed teddy bear, and during his television appearance, he showcased his skills by “dunking” a basketball into a hoop three times.
