One person died, and another was injured in a car crash in Colorado Springs on Saturday afternoon, according to the police.
Just before 1:30 PM, officers responded to a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Murray Boulevard. Upon their arrival, they discovered one person was deceased at the scene, while another was transported to the hospital.
While the investigation is ongoing, authorities are looking into whether speed and alcohol were contributing factors to the crash. It is believed that both the deceased and the injured individuals were occupants of the same vehicle.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department first reported the incident on their social media around 1:50 PM. They directed further inquiries to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) for any traffic-related updates.
As of 7 PM, a duty lieutenant with CSPD noted that the intersection remains partially open, but motorists should anticipate delays as cleanup efforts continue.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
