The deputy head of Russia’s Security Council warned that blocking Russia’s new Rassvet satellite network at Ukraine’s request could lead to “full-scale space warfare.” Dmitry Medvedev stated on Telegram that mutual courtesy is essential in the crowded space environment. He cautioned that if the U.S. were to intervene, their low-orbit Starlink satellites could face severe consequences.

This statement follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s comments in The Financial Times, where he mentioned that he had urged U.S. President Donald Trump to impose sanctions on Russian and Chinese companies developing alternatives to Starlink. Zelenskyy expressed concerns that China’s collaboration with Russia could enhance the precision of Russian airstrikes amidst ongoing conflict.
