A Florida middle school teacher, Fada Concepcion, 52, was arrested after allegedly dragging a seventh-grade student from his desk into a hallway. The incident, which occurred at Tuskawilla Middle School in Seminole County, was captured by surveillance cameras.
Concepcion was charged with child abuse without bodily harm following the September 29 incident. Investigators reported that she pulled the student approximately 20 feet from the classroom. The student later informed school officials, who reviewed the footage and notified law enforcement.
Concepcion contended that she did not drag the student, suggesting that she merely escorted him instead. Her attorney argued in court that the incident did not constitute child abuse, as there were no visible injuries on the student.
A judge found probable cause for the charges but reduced Concepcion’s bond from $5,000 to $1,000. She has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation continues. Concepcion is due back in court in November.
