Celebrity Traitors Cliffhanger Shocks Fans
Fans of Celebrity Traitors reacted strongly to the latest cliffhanger episode, where James Acaster was selected to join the Traitors, while Amol Rajan was tragically murdered.
In the season two premiere, host Claudia Winkleman made the dramatic decision to select James and Amol as potential Traitors. In a twist, both were allowed to plead their case face-to-face before Richard E Grant and Maya Jama, the other Traitors.
After the tense deliberation, the episode ended with Claudia approaching two open coffins, leaving viewers in suspense about who would be recruited and who would meet their demise. The revelation came in the following episode when it was revealed that Amol didn’t appear for breakfast, confirming he had been murdered.
In response to his elimination, Amol expressed disappointment, stating: “It’s gutting to be the first out, but James is a fantastic player.” Meanwhile, James lamented his forced role as a Traitor, saying he hated lying but had no choice.
The audience took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their mixed feelings. One fan expressed sadness over James not getting to be a Faithful, while others voiced concern for him, given his apparent distress over his new role.
Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The cliffhanger has left fans eagerly awaiting the next episode to see how James navigates his new position as a Traitor.
