Data-intensive social science is a significant focus at Yale, emphasizing the use of empirical methods and data to address public policy and social issues. Within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS), this research spans several departments, including economics, political science, psychology, sociology, and statistics. Various labs and research centers, such as the Institution for Social and Policy Studies and the Tobin Center for Economic Policy, also contribute to these efforts.
A recent video features FAS scholars discussing how the growing abundance of data and advancements in data science are reshaping social science research and enhancing our understanding of human behavior.
Support for data-intensive research is provided by the Data-Intensive Social Science Center (DISSC), the Institute for Foundations of Data Science, the Yale Library, and additional resources throughout the university.
