Celebrating 50 Years: Auto Parts Shop in Gordon Becomes Community Gathering Spot

Hinn Gordon Auto Supply, owned by Jerry Kearns in Gordon, Nebraska, has become more than just an auto parts store over its 50 years of operation. Kearns describes it as his personal “man cave,” where local farmers and ranchers gather not only for auto parts but also to exchange stories and catch up on community news.

The store is known for its unique features, including an impressive collection of mule deer mounts, some belonging to local customers who prefer to display them in the store rather than their homes. One standout is a piebald mule deer, notable for being exceptionally old. Kearns also showcases historical items, such as tire chains from a Model A and various beer cans, adding to the store’s charm.

For Kearns, the business is all about connecting with people, emphasizing that “people are what it’s all about.”
