The announcement, made on Instagram, celebrates the matriarch of the Bridgerton family, who has been portrayed by Ruth Gemmell in the main series. The upcoming show will follow the romance between a young Violet and Viscount Edmund Bridgerton.
Shonda Rhimes and Nicholas Nardini, known for their work on the “Bridgerton” spin-off “Queen Charlotte,” will take on roles as showrunners, writers, and executive producers for this new series. The franchise is based on Julia Quinn’s “Bridgerton” novels, each focusing on the love stories of different Bridgerton siblings.
Meanwhile, Season 5 of the original series is currently in production, spotlighting Francesca Bridgerton and Michaela Stirling. Since its debut in 2020, “Bridgerton” has garnered significant acclaim, especially for its diverse cast.
