2026 ACL Music Festival: Attendees Consider Safety and Travel Issues Due to Rainy Conditions

Festival Goers Brace for Weather at ACL 2026

AUSTIN, Texas — As heavy rain is set to hit Central Texas this weekend, attendees heading to the Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival are weighing their options regarding travel, safety, and ticket plans amidst the stormy forecast.

Opinions from Attendees

Some ticket holders are opting to sell their passes, fearful of the impact on travel conditions, while others remain committed to their plans. Social media platforms, particularly TikTok, are abuzz with discussions about flight reliability and festival conditions as the event approaches.

Cameron Valenzuela, traveling from Phoenix, expressed the difficulty of canceling his trip, estimating around $1,000 invested in flights, accommodations, and festival tickets. “We couldn’t sell our tickets—nobody would buy them,” Valenzuela noted. “At that point, you’re going to lose out on so much money that you have to just go.”

Valenzuela plans to brave the weather, packing for heavy rains with multiple ponchos and waterproof gear. “I just bought boots and have insoles for comfort,” he shared, determined to enjoy the festival despite potential disruptions.

Festival History and Weather Concerns

This isn’t the first time ACL has faced weather challenges; the festival was last forced to cancel a full day in 2013 due to severe flooding. As organizers address circulating concerns—like the rumored use of “Dillo Dirt,” a local compost mix—they’re reassuring attendees that this material hasn’t been used since 2009.
