GM is transforming its OnStar service from a standard connectivity subscription into a comprehensive fleet data service known as OnStar Fleet Intelligence. This new platform integrates vehicle data, connected services, and AI-driven analytics tailored for commercial operators, whether they have a few work trucks or manage a regional delivery network.
Key Features:
- Single-Account Access: Users can manage every vehicle through one login, regardless of the vehicle make or OnStar plan.
- Fleet Insights Tool: This feature analyzes patterns in vehicle usage, routes, and driver behavior to identify factors affecting operational costs, such as rising fuel prices.
- AI Assistant: Provides users with straightforward answers to queries about vehicle usage and performance metrics, like idling time.
Ian Hucker, Global Vice President of GM Fleet, emphasized that the platform simplifies data management, allowing business owners to focus on optimizing operations instead of administrative tasks.
Select GM Fleet customers are already utilizing the platform, with a phased rollout for additional users planned.
