Jacksonville Exotic Pet Store Recovers Stolen Puppy
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The owner of Xtreme Exotics, Stephen Brezil, has successfully recovered one of the two stolen animals from his store. Brezil announced on Facebook that his puppy has been returned, though a bearded dragon remains missing.
Brezil traced the suspects through social media, leading to an altercation that brought law enforcement to the scene; however, no arrests were made. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed they are working with partner agencies on the case.
The theft occurred on a Saturday when four individuals interacted with store employees and took the puppy. Brezil noted that the puppy was passed among the suspects before being taken out of the store. The bearded dragon’s absence was later discovered when its cage was checked.
Brezil took swift action, alerting the police and sharing details on social media. News4JAX opted to blur the suspects’ faces in their initial reporting since they haven’t been formally charged.
