SUARDIAZ Group Enhances Automotive Logistics with Addition of New RS Atlantico Car Carrier — SMI DIGITAL

The SUARDIAZ Group has enhanced its automotive shipping capacity with the launch of the RS Atlantico, a dual-fuel Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessel, marking a significant milestone in its fleet expansion. This vessel, the largest in the company’s history, positions SUARDIAZ as the first Spanish shipowner to operate an LNG-powered car carrier, bolstering its operational capabilities in maritime transport of vehicles and rolling cargo.

The introduction of RS Atlantico aligns with SUARDIAZ’s long-term investment strategy, aimed at boosting logistics capabilities and adapting to the evolving demands of international supply chains. Over the past six years, the group has invested over €360 million in fleet renewal and expansion, alongside enhancing logistics infrastructure and specialized industry services.

CEO Juan Riva emphasized the necessity for reliable partners in the transforming international logistics landscape, where control over logistics chains is becoming essential for the global economy. The new vessel, with a capacity for about 5,500 cars and designed for transporting vehicles and heavy equipment, will strengthen SUARDIAZ’s routes and customer services.

Powered by dual-fuel engines, RS Atlantico represents SUARDIAZ’s commitment to environmental sustainability, operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG) as part of a transition towards decarbonization in maritime transport. The RS Atlantico is scheduled to arrive in late 2026, with a second vessel expected in mid-2027.
