Iowa’s SCORE chapters will merge into a single statewide organization starting October 1, enhancing access to business mentoring and educational resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout all 99 counties. SCORE Iowa offers free, confidential one-on-one mentoring, connecting entrepreneurs with volunteers who have relevant experience, regardless of the area.
Julie Bundy, SCORE Iowa District Director, stated that the consolidation will optimize the existing experience, knowledge, and resources. Christy Jones, founder of Clarity Business Coaching in Des Moines, and marketing professional Joye Chizek have been appointed co-chairs. SCORE Iowa will also aim to strengthen partnerships with chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, lenders, and educational institutions to further support businesses across the state.
