A new mural, “River’s Radiance,” by artist Jon Murrill, has been unveiled in Danville’s Riverfront Park, celebrated during a dedication ceremony with local leaders and community members. The mural features Bella, a young Black girl, symbolizing beauty and diversity. Mayor Alonzo Jones emphasized that the choice of Bella was purely based on her beauty. Cultural Arts Manager Lee Rainboth noted the mural’s transformative impact on the space, while about 50 residents contributed to the mural’s creation over the summer. Rainboth hopes this project will inspire more public art initiatives in Danville.
