Afognak acquires majority ownership in Alaskan trucking and fuel firms.

Afognak Native Corporation has acquired a majority stake in the parent company of Weaver Bros., Doyle’s Fuel Service, and Doyle Transport, enhancing its presence in Alaska’s freight and fuel transportation sectors. Although the purchase price and stake size were not disclosed, the parent company will be renamed Afognak-Weaver Logistics while the individual businesses maintain their names. James “Jimmy” Doyle will continue as president.

Weaver Bros., established in 1946 and controlled by the Doyle family since 1978, specializes in transporting fuel, refined products, dry bulk, and refrigerated freight, serving various sectors such as construction, energy, and government across Alaska. This acquisition adds transportation capabilities to Afognak Commercial Group’s portfolio, which already includes fleet management and commercial security services.

Afognak has not indicated whether it will integrate its operations with the newly acquired companies. CEO Dan Corbett noted the investment aligns with the corporation’s long-term growth goals. Revenue or workforce details for the acquired companies were not provided.
