Volkswagen has announced a delay in the return of the ID.Buzz, now scheduled for the first half of 2028 instead of the previously expected 2027 model year. Initially, Volkswagen had skipped the 2026 model year but asserted the ID.Buzz would return with updates, including new software, vehicle-to-load features, and digital key integration. Sales were projected to begin in August 2027, but no pricing details were provided.
The 2028 model will also feature a change to the NACS-style charging port and a new Tourer variant aimed at camping enthusiasts. Despite the delays and previous underwhelming sales, Volkswagen plans to provide more details before the ID.Buzz’s launch, which is hoped to substantially improve its market performance.
