Tulane Energy Forum unites executives, regulators, and innovators | Innovation

The energy sector is gaining significant attention, as highlighted by Tulane professor Pierre Conner. He notes that public interest in energy issues has surged, reminiscent of the early 1970s oil crisis. This renewed focus stems from rising energy costs and concerns about sustainability and reliability.

Tulane University’s Energy Institute launched the Future of Energy Forum to encourage dialogue among industry leaders, researchers, and consumers. The upcoming forum from September 28-30 will feature over 40 sessions on various topics, including advancements in nuclear energy, battery technology, and the challenges of balancing energy reliability with affordability.

Key questions at the forum will address critical issues like data center water usage, U.S. energy policies regarding Venezuela, and the impact of upcoming mid-term elections on energy investments. Prominent speakers include federal energy regulator David LaCerte and executives from major energy companies.

Conner emphasizes Louisiana’s crucial role in the national energy landscape, underscoring the state’s position as the top LNG exporter in the U.S. This forum aims to highlight these contributions while fostering discussions on the future of energy.
