A cremation business in Glenwood is under investigation in connection with a South Chicago funeral home, where 56 bodies were found last month. Evidence technicians recently removed over 100 boxes of evidence from Planet Green Cremations. The business has ties to Johanna Morgan, who previously operated South Chicago Chapel.
Families affected by the situation are coming forward. For instance, Shawnese Shannon’s family expressed concerns after they received what they thought were her ashes, which raised suspicions for them. They have since filed a police report seeking answers.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and encouraging anyone who used Planet Green Cremations to reach out to the police.
