Asia-Pacific Hotels Present ‘Highly Attractive’ Investment Opportunity Amid Travel Surge and Stable Supply: CBRE

Investor interest in hotel assets is on the rise in Hong Kong and the broader Asia-Pacific region, driven by increasing consumer travel eagerness and limited supply boosting property values, as reported by CBRE. The region saw $8 billion in investments during the first half of the year, a 21% increase from the previous year, with Japan, mainland China, and South Korea leading the way.

Steve Carroll from CBRE noted that hotels have emerged as an attractive investment sector due to robust travel demand and limited new supply enhancing both operational performance and asset values. However, he cautioned that higher borrowing costs might slow investment activity in some markets in the latter half of the year. Nevertheless, interest remains strong in areas with solid growth and favorable supply-demand dynamics.
