NASA’s Inspiration Tour Stops at University of Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman visited the University of Arizona on Wednesday morning as part of the agency’s Inspiration Tour. During his visit, he engaged with students and researchers at a town hall event held in Bear Down Gym, emphasizing the critical role of the university in NASA missions and the need to inspire future generations.

Isaacman highlighted his engagements with local suppliers and stressed the importance of attracting new talent as NASA aims to return to the moon and develop nuclear-powered spacecraft. He acknowledged that the next generation will play a crucial role in these ambitious missions.

“Just really exciting and we’re going to need everyone here,” Isaacman stated. “I mean, we’re building a moon base. We’re going back to the moon and we’re building nuclear power spaceships to go to Mars. We need a very inspired and energized next generation to contribute.”

He also celebrated the university’s enduring partnership with NASA, urging students to envision themselves as integral parts of future space exploration. Isaacman’s tour will continue with visits to other innovation hubs in the region.
