Midwest Valley Home Care Opens New Location in Fairmont
FAIRMONT – After operating from a home office since its inception in 2025, Midwest Valley Home Care has established a new office at 111 East 2nd Street in Fairmont. The company, co-owned by Ashley Brown and her husband Kory, focuses on providing essential home care, especially for older adults needing support.
Brown, who previously worked as an emergency department nurse in the Twin Cities, specialized in geriatrics after earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice. Her passion for home healthcare grew from her experience managing chronic conditions and providing preventive care for seniors.
“I’ve been a nurse practitioner for three years specializing in geriatrics,” Brown explained. “I saw a larger population of seniors in this area and recognized the lack of available resources, which motivated me to start this business.”
Midwest Valley Home Care serves approximately 20 clients and employs about the same number of staff, delivering non-medical care directed by clients’ primary care providers. Their services include assistance with daily activities like bathing and meal preparation, as well as transportation for errands and appointments.
Brown emphasized the importance of the new dedicated space for staff training and client support. Previously, work was done on-the-go, making sustainable training challenging. The new location facilitates monthly training sessions, helping caregivers improve their skills.
The office was found through social media, which Brown uses to market and recruit, and she viewed the new space as a solid step in making a more significant impact in the community. “We’re growing every day,” she stated. “There’s so much need, especially in rural areas.”
Looking ahead, Brown hopes to expand services further and eventually acquire a transport vehicle, currently relying on privately owned cars for client transport.
