Amazon’s latest plugin empowers sellers to oversee their entire online business using AI technology.

Amazon.com Inc. recently unveiled new tools aimed at enhancing the experience for independent sellers on its ecommerce platform. Key updates were announced during the annual seller conference, Accelerate. Highlights include:

  1. AI Integration: A new plugin allows sellers to manage their businesses using AI assistants like Anthropic PBC’s Claude and Amazon’s own Amazon Quick, enabling tasks such as checking inventory, adjusting prices, and updating listings without logging into Seller Central.

  2. Automated Monitoring: New automations assist sellers in monitoring their businesses, helping them to analyze performance and take actions automatically based on insights garnered.

  3. Enhanced Seller Assistant: The Seller Assistant has been upgraded to remember sellers’ pricing patterns and inventory cycles, facilitating improved management of listings over time.

  4. Customization and Control: Sellers maintain control over what data the plugin can access and must approve any actions taken on their behalf. The plugin is currently in beta for U.S.-based sellers, with plans for international expansion.

  5. Strategic Features: A new canvas feature within the Seller Assistant helps sellers strategize, compare pricing strategies, and analyze ad effectiveness.

  6. Promotional Offer: Amazon is giving all sellers a free 12-month subscription to Amazon Quick Plus to incentivize the adoption of these AI tools.

Interestingly, Amazon’s decision to partner with Anthropic’s Claude comes shortly after it blocked Meta’s AI agent Muse from using its platform, highlighting the complexities of external AI agent integrations and compliance with platform rules.

These advancements signal Amazon’s ongoing commitment to leveraging AI to streamline operations for independent sellers, ease their management processes, and enhance their business strategies.
