NEO Battery Secures CAD 392K Purchase Order from Fortune 500 Automotive OEM & Receives UN Certification

TORONTO, Ontario – September 17, 2026 – NEO Battery Materials Ltd. (TSXV: NBM, OTC: NBMFF), a manufacturer of low-cost, silicon-enhanced batteries, has announced a purchase order valued at approximately CAD 392,000 (USD 280,000) from a North American Fortune 500 automotive OEM. This order is one of the largest to date within NEO’s manufacturing portfolio.

The order follows extensive validation of NEO’s battery manufacturing quality and efficiency, achieved through previous collaborations with the customer. Utilizing its foundry model, NEO produces full battery cells tailored to customer specifications, addressing process challenges in the development of next-generation electric vehicles.

NEO has also received UN 38.3 certification for its 11.5Ah cell product, a crucial safety certification for shipping lithium-ion batteries globally. This certification allows NEO to ship its product to clients in the drone, defense, and aerospace sectors across the U.S., Ukraine, Canada, and Europe.

Mr. S.J. Youn, Head of Manufacturing & Facility Operations of NEO, stated:

“NEO is steadily proving our foundry capability with tier-1 customers and expanding capacity at our second assembly facility to meet growing demand. Our flexible manufacturing model enables increased customer engagement across various applications, including 100% silicon, lithium-metal, and sodium-ion batteries.”

NEO aims to achieve additional UN certifications for other battery models in its defense drone portfolio and to convert sample evaluations into larger, long-term orders.
