Ohio Leaders Unite for U.S. Space Force Academy
WASHINGTON – Senators Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted (R-Ohio), Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), and Ohio’s statewide leaders have announced a collaborative initiative to establish the United States Space Force Academy in Dayton, Ohio.
Senator Moreno: “The Space Academy’s natural home is in Ohio, the birthplace of aviation and the epicenter of America’s space exploration. President Trump understands that Ohio possesses the resources, history, and talent necessary for this vital endeavor. Under his leadership, America isn’t just going back to the Moon; we’re staying there.”
Senator Husted: “I have worked to position Dayton and Ohio as the aerospace capital of the world. With Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Ohio’s innovative aerospace industry, we are well-equipped to host the Space Academy, which will train future generations of aerospace leaders.”
Congressman Turner: “The U.S. Space Academy is a tremendous opportunity for our community. Together with Sen. Moreno, we are making an important case for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as the ideal location for the Academy, leveraging our expertise and infrastructure to advance American space leadership.”
Ohio Senate President Rob McColley: “Given Ohio’s rich aviation history, from the Wright Brothers to Neil Armstrong, it is fitting that the Space Force Academy should come home to Ohio.”
Matt Huffman, Speaker of the Ohio House: “With our legacy of aerospace pioneers, establishing the space academy here would enhance Ohio’s pivotal role in advancing national defense.”
WSU President Sue Edwards: “Wright State University is ready to support Ohio’s bid for the Space Academy by leveraging our partnerships with Wright Patterson, NASA, and others to produce high-quality graduates for the Space Force.”
