Bismarck’s Elk Ridge Elementary students participated in hands-on learning at the Gateway to Science’s STEM Adventure Mini Camps, designed for grades 1-5. These camps occur on non-school days and include activities such as building pumpkin zip lines and engaging in coding lessons. STEM educator Emily Montgomery highlighted the dual focus of the camps, encouraging kids to explore both robotics and harvesting techniques. Fourth grader Maxwell Sailer described their zip line project, emphasizing creativity in engineering with materials like paper and string. The camps will continue throughout the school year, featuring diverse activities centered on science, technology, engineering, and math.
