No Relief in Sight as Energy Experts Predict Record High Gas Prices
Gas prices continue to surge across the United States, with the national average reaching $4.47 per gallon as of Friday, according to AAA. Energy expert Ed Hirs warns that there’s no end in sight to these rises, predicting prices could hit $5 per gallon and possibly even exceed $6 or $7 per gallon in some areas.
The primary driver of these elevated costs is the rising price of oil, largely influenced by ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran, along with disruptions in the Middle East. Diesel prices have mirrored the increases seen in gasoline.
According to officials at Brown University, Americans have incurred over $100 billion in additional costs for gasoline and diesel due to the conflict, translating to more than $825 for each household in the U.S.
