A Venezuelan Entrepreneur Expands His Influence Throughout Northwest Florida

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage with Rivero’s Street

As Hispanic Heritage Month begins, communities along the Panhandle are honoring the rich cultures and entrepreneurial spirit present in the region. One local entrepreneur making waves is Jose Rivero, a 25-year-old who is deeply committed to sharing his Venezuelan roots through food.

Journey of Resilience

Rivero moved from Venezuela to the U.S. in 2019 at just 18, driven by his culinary ambitions. He initially started a sushi food truck in Orlando but faced challenges when business disputes led him to regroup. Instead of giving up, he embraced his heritage, identifying a gap in the local market for authentic Venezuelan street food.

Expanding the Brand

In 2024, Rivero launched his first food truck, Rivero’s Street, in Freeport. The concept quickly gained popularity, leading to expansion into Fort Walton Beach and eventually a permanent restaurant. Now, with a new location in Panama City, Rivero aims to serve traditional Venezuelan dishes like arepas and cachapas, hoping to uplift the Hispanic community along the Gulf Coast.

“Every day, I want to bring Venezuelan and Hispanic culture to as many people as possible,” says Rivero. He views every dish as an opportunity to represent his homeland and foster community connection.

Future Aspirations

Looking ahead, Rivero plans to expand into Pensacola and dream of establishing a nationwide brand. He encourages fellow entrepreneurs to maintain faith, work hard, and persevere. His journey reflects a deep commitment to community and cultural representation.
