Forecasters are monitoring a new area in the Atlantic as Invest 98L weakens. This new area is located several hundred miles southwest of the Azores, with its showers and storms beginning to organize more effectively.

The system is expected to move slowly. Conditions may permit some growth this weekend, but could hinder development early next week.
Meanwhile, Invest 98L, located east of Bermuda, has seen its showers and storms decrease significantly, leading to development chances now near 0%.
Threat to Louisiana:
Currently, no immediate impacts are expected in Louisiana, and the National Hurricane Center (NHC) has not highlighted any Gulf development areas.
