Festival Del Sol Celebrates Latin Culture in Sacramento
This Saturday, the Festival Del Sol will bring a lively celebration of Latin culture, featuring music, dance, food, art, and community, at the Maple Center in Sacramento.
The festival will showcase a variety of cultural dancers, including performers from the CaliDanza Dance Company. According to Steven Valencia, the artistic director of CaliDanza, the performances are designed to create a deeper connection within the community. “It’s important to share who we are as a people, what we’ve learned, what we’ve gone through as a people,” he stated, noting the scarcity of festivals that celebrate Latino culture in the region.
Dancers from CaliDanza provided a vibrant preview of one of the featured dances during a visit to the KCRA studio.
