SkyDrive and Verty Aim for eVTOL Launch in South Korea by 2028

SkyDrive has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with South Korea’s Verty to facilitate the commercial deployment of its SD-05 eVTOL aircraft in South Korea by 2028. This collaboration involves a feasibility study on critical aspects such as flight safety, infrastructure, and potential routes, including tourist flights to Jeju Island and inter-city transit near Seoul.

South Korea is developing advanced air mobility (AAM) frameworks to support future transport. Verty has already validated its operational procedures for flying and vertiport management, moving toward acquiring the nation’s first eVTOL air operator certificate.

SkyDrive, founded by Tomohiro Fukuzawa, is also active in various global markets such as the US, UAE, and India, aiming to normalize commercial eVTOL transport.

Dong-Woo Kim, Verty’s CEO, expressed excitement about partnering with SkyDrive, emphasizing that the SD-05 is well-suited for short, cost-effective routes, especially in the tourism sector. The firms are committed to creating new transportation value in both Japan and South Korea.
