Explore the Intersection of Art and Science at USU
The world is filled with moments that inspire awe—whether it’s a captivating piece of music, a radiant rainbow, or the glistening surface of a soap bubble. These experiences, while seemingly different, share fascinating connections.
David Smith, a physicist at Utah State University, invites you to delve into the surprising physics underlying these everyday wonders at Science Unwrapped. Join him for a presentation titled “The Hidden Science Behind Artistic Expression” on September 18, at 7 p.m. in the Eccles Science Learning Center, Room ESLC 130, on the Logan campus. This event is designed for all ages and is free to attend.
Following the presentation, there will be engaging hands-on activities facilitated by USU student groups and community volunteers, along with refreshments.
Brynja Kohler, chair of Science Unwrapped and associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences, shares that this event marks the kick-off of the new Fall 2026-Spring 2027 ‘InterPLAY of Art & Science’ series. “Expect to engage in making music together,” she hints.
The presentation will be recorded and made available on the Science Unwrapped website afterwards.
